I’m Jules, a blogger and food geek who lives not too far from Derby with my daughter (known as L or Little Baker or LB on the blog) and my husband (often referred to as Hubs) who are both equally as foodie like me.
I started writing Butcher Baker Baby back in 2007 when UK based food blogs were in their infancy.
My husband & I had just bought our first house together, a tiny one-bed terraced cottage in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. With a tiny kitchen and limited storage, we decided it was about time we ditched our student diet and learn how to cook properly. This blog was born as a way of documenting recipes and our quaint cottage life.
Over the last decade, it has grown to be a well respected blog with loyal readers and now also covers occasional UK travel and a focus about getting children in the kitchen cooking.
I combine both my writing work and food education experience to write, test and develop recipes and produce food related content for a wide range of organisations within both the public and private sector as well as working with a range of chefs including those on TV, Great British Bake Off and MasterChef.
Both Butcher Baker Baby &I have appeared in The Times, The Guardian, Woman & Home magazine and Blogosphere magazine. I have also been featured on The Huffington Post, Marks & Spencer website, Morrisons website, Tastespotting, FoodGawker and The Kitchn.
I regularly appear on the BBC Local Radio network often talking about food related issues and demonstrating recipes on air.
Butcher Baker Baby receives an average of 18k page views a month as well as 11k followers across the social networks. 80% of the readership is female and the dominant age bracket being age 25-44.
I occasionally work with selected brands on sponsored posts and campaigns that fit with my blog and core values. All commercial posts will be clearly flagged up, following ASA guidelines.
Any posts about products that don’t state the product was gifted to me from the brand are organic posts and are written because I genuinely love the product or brand.
If you’re interested in working together please email me.
