If you are planning to buy an electric pressure cooker lately, I have got a good suggestion for you. Check out my Instant Pot IP-LUX50 6-in-1 Pressure Cooker Review. I’ve been using this cooker for a good amount of time now. My experience with it has been satisfactory altogether. And I think, this cooker can be the right one for you too.
The great thing about the IP-LUX50 is that it is more than a pressure cooker. It is designed to provide the services rendered by six different kitchen appliances. It is sturdy and safe. But that is just saying the least. If you think you are interested, then let’s go on with this review of mine. And if you are not, read it anyway. At least you will have a fair idea about your choices.
A word of warning, this review is rather long. If you find reading this whole review boring, you can skip to the Pros/Cons section and check all the details in short.
An Instant Pot IP-Lux 50 6-in-1 Pressure Cooker Review will not convince the readers if the cooker itself gives in under pressure. But, the Instant Pot pressure cookers are here to last. I have been using mine for a long time now. It is still as good a news. Of course, some credit goes to me, since I like to keep my kitchen appliances clean and to shine all the time. They always look new.
Anyways, the IP-LUX50 is made of steel from both outside and inside. The outer body is made of steel, which is not stainless. But the exterior is coated with heat-resistant paint. This lets you touch the outer surface while cooking.
The inner pot is much more durable than the outside, which is understandable. The inner cooking pot is made of 18/8 food-grade 304 stainless steel. And it has a 3ply bottom. The 3ply bottom disperses heat quickly. As a result, I’m able to cook quickly.
One-Pot, Many Dishes
Yes, IP-LUX50 electric pressure cooker is not just a pressure cooker. It can perform the functions of 6 different kitchen wares including that of a pressure cooker. It is a pressure cooker, sauté/browning, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer & warmer at the same time.
You can choose the cooking mode you prefer by pressing a button. The cooker will then do rest of the job. This is actually great, I would say. Mainly because, this being a 6-in-1 multi-cooker, I saved a lot of space and time with my IP-LUX50. You can know about space, but why time? Well, I don’t have to manage different cookers and focus on only one.
State-of-the-art Programs to Help You Cook
This is the most interesting part of the review for me. To be honest, I don’t know much about technology. It totally goes over my head. But not the IP-LUX50 from Instant Pot. Its user interface is very easy. 10 inbuilt smart programs come with it. Namely, meat/stew, sauté poultry, soup, bean/chili, congee, steam, multigrain, rice, and slow cook. And all of them have 3 adjustable modes. You can select the one you require by pressing a button.
These programs have the time set automatically. You can also set the time manually. It has a 24-hour delay cooking time and an automatic Keep Warm setting. The Keep Warm setting keeps your food warm after you finish cooking.
As far as the delay goes, I use it to delay the cooking. Came home after a rough day at the office? Don’t feel like cooking? Hit the “Delay Time” function and delay the cooking until the next day. Don’t worry! I’ve tested this at the time of writing Instant Pot IP-Lux50 6-in-1 Pressure Cooker Review myself. Food items were perfectly okay inside.

Cleaning is Easy
Cleaning the Instant Pot IP-LUX50 Electric Pressure Cooker is probably the best part of using it. Normally, electrical appliances require a great deal of care when it comes to cleaning them. But not so with this one.
Not that I am telling you to be careless when cleaning this cooker. What I mean is, it is a very easy task cleaning the IP-LUX50. You can shove both the inner pot (made of stainless steel) and the lid into the dishwasher. And for the base and the external body, damp a soft piece of cloth and rub it. The Sole Blemishing Point
By default, you’ll find the pressure at the maximum level. And when I say “Maximum Pressure,” I mean around 15 psi (pressure per square unit; in the case of many stovetop pressure cookers, 15 psi is a high-pressure limit). However, you don’t need to cook all your food items under this level of pressure. And that is the setback. I have had to adjust many of my recipes accordingly.
